No quote bot. No platform queue. Your file goes to the operator who will program and cut the part. Here's exactly how the RFQ-to-shipped-part path works.
What happens when you send a file.
You send the file
STEP, PDF, DXF, or even a clear photo with dimensions. Use the RFQ form, email, or text us a screenshot. Whatever's easy.
We read it
A real machinist opens the file and reads it. Material, tolerances, finish, quantity, deadline — all noted.
DFM flags
If we see something that'll burn money — a deep undercut, a wall thickness that'll vibrate, a tolerance that doesn't need to be that tight — we tell you before quoting.
Quote arrives
Typical: 72 hours. Faster on rush. The number comes back as a real, signed quote — not an estimate from a pricing engine.
You approve
Reply with PO, payment terms, or just a "go." We confirm material in-house or order it; lead time clock starts.
Cut, inspect, ship
Programs written, fixtures set, parts cut. First-article inspection. Pack and ship — or schedule a pickup.
Files we can quote from.
Email files to service@weburnforaliving.com, or use the RFQ form. For STEP assemblies over 50 MB, we'll send a secure upload link.
